1The current and future officials of the pargana Kanpil [Kampel], sarkar Abode of Victory Ujjain,
2subordinate to suba Malwa should know that according to the kindness-bearing nishan
3the service of chaudhri in the aforementioned pargana, from the gracious and honourable gentleman
4in accordance with the details on the zimn [of this document], on the death of the chaudhri Churaman, Nandlal, his son,
5has been kindly appointed to the service of chaudhri of that place [Kanpil] on condition of loyalty and cultivation [of the land] and good behaviour towards the peasants.
6It is necessary that knowing the service assigned to the said person,
7they shall be robust and unconditional [in giving] a comforting hand to him in the execution of the affairs related
8to this service. Know this matter to be settled,
9and all prohibitions in place. Written on the twenty-fifth of the month of Shawwal, 44th year
10of the exalted reign, which is glorious. Ended.
